Royals Juniors Rugby Union was formed in 1962 and has been providing local kids with access to the great game of Rugby Union continuously ever since.

Originally conceived by Royals founder Jack Waters, the Royals Rugby Union College is an extension program for young players wanting to excel in their chosen sport and maximise fitness and skills to reach their fullest potential.

The Royals Rugby College aspires to nurture talent by developing players through advanced training and development opportunities while also providing a chance to learn and understand rugby club administration & rugby operations to support a wider understanding of the game.

The Rugby College Program provides our Under 13 – Under 18 Royals players with skills development opportunities that help them achieve personal and club goals. It also provides players with unique opportunities to participate in local Rugby competition and the broader Rugby community.

To achieve these goals, we have designed a unique program that include:

  • Mentoring Support & Feedback

  • Expert fitness and training

  • Pathway support and development towards Juniors Representative Rugby Union & Seniors

  • Opportunities to travel & participate in exchange programs either interstate or internationally

  • Community Club culture building and development

  • School holiday camps & training opportunities

Royals Juniors Rugby College is executed by our Juniors Director of Rugby  Charlie Cartwright with support from Seniors Royals Players, Parent Coaches and Volunteers.

All Under 13 to Under 18 age players registered with Royals Juniors Rugby Union are eligible to participate in the programs.  Training days are Tuesday and Thursday at Rivett Playing Fields.

Players receive club training squad kit, Juniors Brumbies Membership as well as support to travel and participate in club functions.

Royals Juniors is an inclusive, community club that believes all local children should have access to and equity in opportunity to play the amazing sport of Rugby Union. Community clubs are the beating heart of grass roots rugby and provide children opportunity to participate beyond a school framework.

Our community club provides the opportunity for young men and women to form friendships,   develop  fitness and skills and participate in a club environment with supports and benefits that will last a lifetime.
